Effective July 1, 2025, all Board examinations will be based on the 2023 National Electrical Code (NEC) book. All candidates taking an examination after 07/01/2025 will need to use the 2023 NEC book. There will be no changes to the 2013 National Fire Alarm Code (NFPA) book used for exams (NFPA only required for Single-family Dwelling, Fire Alarm/Low Voltage, Limited, Intermediate, and Unlimited exams).
