Virginia Reciprocity
Virginia licensees who hold a Class B electrical license may ONLY apply for the Special Restricted (SP), Limited or Intermediate classifications in North Carolina through reciprocity.
Virginia licensees who hold a Class A electrical license may apply for any electrical license classification in North Carolina through reciprocity.
Pursuant to the provisions of the reciprocal agreement between the Board and the Virginia Board for Contractors, licensees of the Virginia board are eligible to apply for and obtain a North Carolina electrical contracting license, and North Carolina licensees are eligible to apply for and obtain a Virginia electrical contracting license as listed in the following table:
